CNN has obtained a new video that suggests the abducted Chibok girls are still alive. The video is believed to have been made last December as part of negotiations between the government and Boko Haram. The video had been seen by negotiators and some members of the government. But no one had shown the parents until now.
It shows no fewer than 15 of the abducted girls confirming that they were the girls taken from Government Girls Secondary School (GSS) Chibok. CNN said they obtained the video through a close source to Boko Haram insurgents. The video was watched by some parents of the girls.
