EPL ROUND UP: Manchester City Trash United as Sunderland sacks Di Canio.

The Most anticipated derby in England took place on Sunday as Pellegrini’s team hosted Post-Ferguson’s men at the Etihad. The fixture had Howard Webb as the center referee. The host were two goals up in the first half, thanks to Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure. Aguero scored his second and Manchester City’s third immediately after the interval. Former Manchester United target Samir Nasri completed the rout after a great work by Jesus Navas. The Premier League defending champions who were blunt in front of goal could only fashion out few decent chances as they missed their talismanic point-man, Robin Van Persie. In-form striker, Wayne Rooney got a late consolation via a free-kick making the scoreline a little respectable(4-1), marking David Moyes second defeat of the season and continuing a win-less streak against ‘big teams’ in the league. I predicted Manchester City win and United scoring a single goal (happy) but I did not see City getting four past David De Gea, I only saw two (sad).

Nigerian International, John Obi Mikel scored his first league goal for Chelsea after 258 games as he helped Mourihno’s side overcome Fulham in the London Derby at the weekend. Arsenal,Spurs,Swansea,Everton,Southampton,Hull,West Brom and Aston Villa were all on the winning side.
No Draw was recorded during the weekend and former log leaders Liverpool surprisingly lost to Southampton at Anfield. Rodgers men are now fifth on the log behind Manchester City and Chelsea on goal difference while North London teams Arsenal and Spurs sit on first and second position respectively.

The first manager in the EPL to be sacked this season is Paolo Di Canio of Sunderland. He was only able to gather a single point this season after recruiting more than ten players and Di Matteo is set to take over.

Flashnewsblog EPL player of the week is LEIGHTON BAINES.
The left back helped his side to a 3-2 win at West Ham by scoring a brace. Do you know that Baines scored his first goal for Everton on 30th August 2009 against his former club Wigan.
